See the John Jam Poster Full size. Lisa Dames will not be able to appear |
On Sunday, May 3rd, 2009 the 8th annual Benefit Concert and Raffle supporting The Brain Tumor Center at Duke was hosted at Green's Supper Club & Oyster Bar. Slider played two great sets of their soulful boogie music with special guest Sam Frazier. Thanks to everyone who supported this great cause, remembering a fine man, and listened to great music (check the winners of all of our great raffle prizes and pictures below of all of the fun everyone had). *Please remember that all contributions made online should be designated for/from Hoepuccky team OR, send a message to Diane and she will contact you. |

I was not fortunate enough to know John Stephenson. However, I have had the pleasure and good fortune to know a number of people who were touched by his energy and love. He must have been one of those forces of nature that inspire and move people to accomplish great deeds. The Hoepuccky group that works hard to create the event and pull it off each year demonstrate passion and determination to raise money for this great cause. Diane, Melody, Jeff, Vicky, Jean, Mac, and Carol (and I'm sorry if I forgot anyone) worked hard to pull in a great crowd to hear Slider and Sam Frazier. They collected a great bunch of prizes. All of the folks who donated something to the raffle should also be commended for their gifts to the cause. And if you didn't win this year; well, you just might win next year. Please use all of the businesses who donated something. We all danced, and drank, and had a wonderful time. The fine folks at Green's Supper Club should be commended. But most of all because of the effect that John had on all who met and knew him and those of us lucky enough to know people who knew him, we are supporting a great cause in his honor. thanks - harry furness
